Six More Weeks of Winter?

We put away our blue and gold lights, and plan to have them up again next holiday season. Even though the groundhog saw his shadow, we are anticipating spring and are welcoming the lengthening days.

Come See Our New Winter Lights!

We’re brightening the dark winter days with some new light sculptures made for us by Pandora LaCasse of Portland, Maine. Pandora also designed the five light orbs hanging on the trellis. All of the lights are LED, in blues, golds and warm whites, designed to brighten our walkways and play off the snow. We plan to leave all of our lights in place all winter.

Barred Owl – December 2, 2009

Barred Owl in Norman B. Leventhal Park on December 2, 2009, photographed by Matt Garvey. We wonder if this is the same barred owl whose sightings at Faneuil Hall and the Boston Common were chronicled in the Boston Globe in November.

Visitors have called Norman B. Leventhal Park “an urban living room”, a “jewel” and a “green oasis in an asphalt desert”. The Park is indeed a special place, and the setting for many stories. We welcome your stories, photos, thoughts and suggestions about the Park and would like to share some of them in this space. Please contact info@nullnormanbleventhalpark.org.
