Amenities & ProgrammingThe design of Norman B. Leventhal Park accommodates passive individual activities such as eating, reading, conversations and people watching. Park PhotographyCandid photography is permitted within the Park. Any group photography, or filming of a commercial nature, requires a photography release. Download a photography release form (PDF). Park EventsThe Park was carefully designed to be a place of enjoyment for passive activities among its visitors. The landscaping and many of the art and structural elements in the Park were not designed for frequent organized events. For these reasons, planned events are discouraged. Wireless Internet AccessFree high-speed Internet access is available to visitors of the Park with laptops and handheld devices with 802.11b/g wireless network cards. The Park’s primary access point for wireless connect serves the entire park, including the café. The SSID for our unsecured wireless network is Norman B Leventhal Park. Four-Season CaféZ Square in the Park is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. The café is operated by the Z Restaurant Group, owner of the Z Square Cafés in Harvard Square and Kenmore Square, and opens at 7 am serving fresh baked pastries, breakfast paninis and George Howell Coffee. Lunch offerings include signature salads, soups, sandwiches, grilled paninis and desserts. The café offers indoor and outdoor seating and a full catering menu. Seat CushionsTo encourage park visitors to lounge on The Norman B. Leventhal Park’s Great Lawn, foam seating cushions may be borrowed from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the summer, from a cart located at the south end of the lawn. Summer Acoustic Music SeriesWhile in the Post Office Square area, we invite you to visit Norman B. Leventhal Park and enjoy the refreshing sounds of acoustic music performed by local musicians who play with such venerable ensembles as the Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Handel & Haydn Society, and Boston Lyric Opera.
