The design of Norman B. Leventhal Park accommodates passive individual activities such as eating, reading, conversations and people watching.

Park Photography

Candid photography is permitted within the Park. Any group photography, or filming of a commercial nature, requires a photography release. Download a photography release form (PDF).

Park Events

The Park was carefully designed to be a place of enjoyment for passive activities among its visitors. The landscaping and many of the art and structural elements in the Park were not designed for frequent organized events. For these reasons, planned events are discouraged.

Wireless Internet Access

Free high-speed Internet access is available to visitors of the Park with laptops and handheld devices with 802.11b/g wireless network cards. The Park’s primary access point for wireless connect serves the entire park, including the café. The SSID for our unsecured wireless network is Norman B Leventhal Park.

Four-Season Café

Sip is an owner-operated cafe serving great coffee and a menu of soup, salads and sandwiches on artisan breads featuring locally grown produce. Enjoy the outdoor seating. Summer brings Sip's hot dog cart and ice cream to the Park. Sip Cafe is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Summer Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Seat Cushions

To encourage park visitors to lounge on The Norman B. Leventhal Park’s Great Lawn, foam seating cushions may be borrowed midday, Monday through Friday during the summer, from a cart located at the south end of the lawn.

Summer Music Series

While in the Post Office Square area, we invite you to visit Norman B. Leventhal Park and enjoy the refreshing sounds of local musicians who regularly play with such venerable ensembles as the Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Handel & Haydn Society, and Boston Lyric Opera. Repertoires range from Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven to Broadway, Dixieland, and contemporary. Performances are from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, June through August, and are made possible by a generous gift from Beacon Capital Partners.
